Our History
Most visitors to our beautiful valley are here for recreation. Yet, the Chapel of the Transfiguration in Grand Teton National Park offers a unique and inspiring location for spiritual refreshment. This small rustic log chapel, built in 1925, offers spectacular views of the Teton Mountain Range and a majestic place to pray.
A short car-ride away from Jackson, every Sunday during the summer, the Chapel of the Transfiguration serves to provide spiritual refreshment to the many thousands of tourists visiting the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, as well as those from the ranching communities.
This rustic log chapel offers spectacular views, an excellent location for a wedding, and the window over the altar frames the Grand Teton. The Chapel seats 65 people with additional seating outside, weather permitting. The Chapel of the Transfiguration is available for weddings from early June through September, based on the availability of our clergy. We would be delighted if you chose the Chapel of the Transfiguration to be the place you begin the next portion of your life’s journey.
