Lay Ministry

Lay Ministry Episcopal Church in Wyoming

“Be useful. Blaze a trail. Shine forth with the light of your faith… and light up all the ways of the earth with the fire of Christ that you carry in your heart.”

-St. Josemaria Escriva

When the fire of Christ shines from our churches, our lay people are the ones stacking the firewood, stoking the flames, and tending to the hot coals. The loving and working hands of Christ live at the ends of the arms of those in our church communities.  This makes it imperative for the people of the church to have the tools and opportunities we need to grow and deepen our faith, theology, and potential as the people of God’s Kingdom.

Discerned Ministry

Discerned Ministry, Episcopal Church in Wyoming

“God leads every soul by a separate path.”

                                                 - John of the Cross

It is this path that we are discovering as we discern God’s call.  As we pray with others and listen for God’s love and direction, our understanding of gifts and ministry for ourselves and how they interact with and enhance our communities is deepened.  Following God’s path then, and not our own, we are able to move forward humbly into our shared life of communion with the Spirit.

The Episcopal Church in Wyoming has a prescribed discernment process for those seeking a deeper understanding of the ministry to which they are called, whether lay or ordained.

Continuing Education, Episcopal Church in Wyoming

Continuing Education

“Do not lose heart, even if you should discover that you lack qualities necessary for the work to which you are called. He who called you will not desert you, but the moment you are in need he will stretch out his saving hand.”

                                                                                                             -St. Angela Merici

We cannot know all things and be all things essential for the complexity of our ministry.  There is always more to learn, more to experience, more to fathom.

The Episcopal Church in Wyoming provides educational opportunities for clergy who have Continuing Ed requirements for their position and also for those in our churches who are seeking other types of educational instruction through the Church.  Please let the us know if there is an educational opportunity or need that you would like to see made available to our churches by emailing Rev.
